A cancer diagnosis is devastating, not just for the service user but for everyone that loves and cares for them. It turns your life upside down and, for a long time, life can seem confusing as you come to terms with the diagnosis. The KASE Care team will be there every step of the way as the service user undergoes treatment, offering all the support and care that is needed.

Cancer has no respect and will attack anyone regardless of age and physical health. No matter whether the service user diagnosed is of school age, working-age or retired, it is never any less shocking or devastating which is why friends and family, as well as the service user themselves, can access support.

 

Working with Service Users and Families

The KASE Care team will work with both the service user and the family to create a tailored care plan that suits the service users’ individual needs and requirements. Should our specialist care team deem the care given as needing changing, this will be discussed with both the service user and family beforehand.

Our team will ensure that the service user is comfortable at home, when receiving treatment, and travelling to and from treatment centres. KASE Care can arrange for transport when required, as well as being on hand for home care visits and assisted living as and when the service is necessary.

Cancer treatment can have an impact both emotionally and physically, leaving a service user feeling exhausted. Our care team will be there to ensure everyday tasks such as shopping, cooking and cleaning are taken care of, while helping the service user to live as independent a life as possible.

A friend or relative of someone living with cancer may feel as though the responsibility lays with them to offer care. This is why the KASE Care team ensures that they feel part of their care and support by liaising with them every step of the way. We understand that calling on outside support can be a difficult choice to make, however, we will be there to assure you that seeking the help of healthcare professionals is in the best interests for all involved.
