The KASE Care team offers post-operative care to ensure that service users are well cared for and comfortable following surgery that means they require assistance. As soon as the service user is out of surgery, post-operative care begins. This may include pain management, wound care and managing any side effects of surgery.
A tailored care plan will be created upon discussions with the service user and family. The plan will take into consideration the type of surgery that is being performed, health and medical history, how long the service user is expected to remain in hospital, complete recovery time (to the point that the service user can resume normal activity) and any other needs and requirements that should be considered.
Post-operative care should be arranged prior to the service user going into surgery so the KASE Care team can begin care straight away.
