The KASE Care team are qualified to offer specialised home care services for all manner of conditions, including brain injury which may have been the result of trauma. Service users with brain injuries who need home care are likely to need continuous care and/or a lengthy rehabilitation period upon being discharged from the hospital (likely having had surgery).
Our care team liaise with doctors and other medical professionals to ensure that we have an up to date picture on the service user so we can offer the care that is required. KASE Care works closely with the family of the service user, as well as clinicians and therapists in order to create a detailed, tailored care plan.
What Does the Care Plan Include for Service Users with a Brain Injury?
No two care plans created by the KASE Care team are the same as we recognise the need for support that is to the service user’s individual requirements. We conduct an assessment of the service user – this can happen before surgery if this is possible to allow for a smooth hospital to home transition – at which point our specialists can list key points of action and discuss this with the person receiving care (if possible) and the family.
While there are some variations from each service user’s care plan, there are aspects that do always remain the same, including:
- Compassionate care and support for the service user and family
- Focus on meaningful, achievable goals as part of the service user’s rehabilitation process
- Support for the service user in day-to-day tasks (such as shopping, cooking and cleaning etc…)
- Regular (24/7 where necessary) monitoring of health needs
- Transportation to and from appointments where needed
- Access to other healthcare professionals
The care administered by the KASE Care team is to ensure that the service user is comfortable and well looked after, as well as with a focus on improving functional abilities, with the end goal of being able to live as fulfilling and independent a life as possible. We understand that, depending on the severity of the injury, the expected timeframe of rehabilitation – as well as whether or not the service user will always require support of some extent – will differ, but our team will always be on hand.
Home Care or Assisted Living?
KASE Care can offer both home care and live-in care services across London and Essex for those who require it. Our specialist team will be best placed to advise which of these services will be most beneficial for the service user.
Our aim is always to help the service user to achieve manageable goals and live as independently as possible, but we understand that, particularly having just come out of surgery, there may be the need for round the clock care and assistance. KASE Care will ensure that the service user’s needs are met regardless.
